Everyone loves to look and feel great but some people just don’t know how to go about styling for work and the rest of the day. Here, we’ve got all the details you need!

If you’re interested in looking great at work and otherwise, you’ve come to the right place. Most people love to make heads turn at work and on the street for all the right reasons, however, they don’t exactly know how to go about styling. Faced this problem one too many times? Don’t fret. We’ve got the perfect cheat sheet to looking great at work and after.

Accessorize!

Accessories are an integral part of any wardrobe. Unfortunately, however, most people don’t give them the importance that they truly deserve.
A lot of people in Asia and across the globe generally have the misconception that accessories should only be used until a certain age after which they should be given up altogether. This notion is baseless and completely ridiculous. You can – and should! – use accessories with your outfits no matter how young or old you may be. The only prerequisite is that you should know how to accessorize. One rule to live by when accessorizing is that you should never wear sparkly or shiny accessories on a sequin outfit or any other clothing that is innately very shiny or lustrous. In fact, it should be quite the opposite. When you are wearing solid colored shirts or dresses, you should top them up with shiny or colorful accessories and vice versa. This will not only create the perfect blend between trendy and elegant, but your accessories will also complement your outfit better.

Don’t ignore your shoes

We aren’t concerned about whether you’re one of those people who call shoes accessories or if you include them in team clothing. The only thing we’re concerned about is how well you take care of them. It is an absolute turn off when someone’s clothing, hair, nails and wearable accessories are on point and their shoes are, well, the last thing but appealing. Keeping your shoes in near perfect condition especially when you are wearing them to work is something that is perhaps as necessary as ensuring that your clothes aren’t ripped or don’t have any stains on them. Whether you buy your shoes from the neighborhood retailer or prefer spending some extra cash on them, taking care of your shoes will help them last longer. Besides, they’re the number one thing that can truly make or break your outfit. Wear the right shoes with the right outfit and take care of them well to find yourself turning heads everywhere you go! Again, remember not to match the color of your shoes with your outfit too much. Not everyone can pull that off.

Experiment

Nobody said that you can’t have a little fun with your outfit just because you’re going to work or have to attend a formal meeting. The key here is to combine your pieces in a subtle manner and ensure that your outfit doesn’t look too informal for work.
Fortunately for trend setters like you, most offices these days won’t limit you to the clichéd dress pants and tucked-in shirts. If you’re workplace supports business casuals, you practically have a free ticket to experiment with different pieces in your wardrobe and put them together to create something completely new and fascinating – for your colleagues and yourself too!

On the other hand, if your workplace does have certain restrictions on the clothes that you can wear, nobody said that your clothing has to be boring. There are a ton of more colors that you can wear in addition to your black or grey shirts. Look out for coffee brown, navy and elegant shades of rose to incorporate them in your workplace outfits in the most subtle way.

Tailor your clothes

The fashion police isn’t particularly fond of loose or ill-fitted clothes – you probably already guessed that much by now. Loose and ill-fitted clothes or clothes that are out of style should be kept as far away from the workplace as possible. Loose clothes and clothes that are years old are a fashion disaster, and they look all the worse when you wear them to work among colleagues that you could swear came straight from the runway. We understand it might be difficult for you to part ways with your favorite shirt with shoulder pads or pleated trousers, but trust us – it’s the best decision that you could make. If you find that these are the only types of clothes that you have in your wardrobe, don’t be afraid to shop for the latest styles and cuts. If you’re afraid that you’ll have to spend a fortune on revamping your closet to keep up with trends, remember that your work attire – or any other type of attire for that matter – doesn’t have to be expensive for it to look good. Just wear something that you know will look good on you and something that you’re comfortable with and you’re good to go!

Follow all of the tips mentioned above to look great whether you’re going to work or to a party. And don’t forget to thank us when you get compliments from your cranky colleague.
